The menu offers traditional Turkish classics for eating in or to take away.

The menu sees a range of hot and cold starters such mixed Meze, imam Bayildi Aubergine stuffed with onion, tomatoes ,parsley and a hint of garlic, stuffed vine leaves and plenty of vegetarian choices.

Mains offer marinated Shish kebabs, lamb chops, ribs, wings and slow-cooked dishes like Mousakka and lamb shank.

Cutty Sark Restaurant has the best bar in the Greenwich to list two varieties of this most famous of Turkish Raki.

Essentially a digestif, raki is a social custom as much as a drink – typically sipped by groups of diners along with plates of mezes (mixed starters which fulfil the same function as Spanish tapas).

Often 80 or 90 per cent proof it is grape brandy flavoured with raisins and aniseed, and is diluted with water or ice to taste – definitely one to be savoured and never hurried.

Turkish cuisine is largely the heritage of Ottoman cuisine, which can be described as a fusion and refinement of Central Asian, Middle Eastern and Balkan cuisines.

We are proud to have named our restaurant after the historic ship, The Cutty Sark, this famous clipper ship, which was launched in 1869, brought tea to England from China in the 19th century. It is preserved in dry dock at Greenwich where its graceful lines dominate the riverside. Below decks is a collection of ships figure heads, paintings and prints of the sea.
